Born and raised in NYC, I’ve relocated to Durham, NC in 2020, and have sincerely been enjoying life.

My career began as a teenager in NYC. Having been an art student at the prestigious LaGuardia School of the Arts, then continuing that Fine Arts education at SUNY Purchase, I’d already had all of the color theory, foundational principles, and practical experience that made doing makeup simply a matter of touching a different medium. In 1989, I met a stylist who introduced me to a whole new world, one of being a freelance Makeup Artist.

My first real love in the industry was on a crew in the 90’s that did run and gun style music videos, which imbued me with a sense of community and a mutual respect for everyone else who was also dragging each project across the finish line, come what may. Later on I found myself in the world of retail cosmetics, where I learned a different kind of teamwork, and also a lot of corporate procedures and how to navigate a very different world.

In that era, I started working a lot of fashion jobs; what anyone could consider “the cherry on top” of my career. Being creative with the medium of makeup itself is a talent, but one that only complements the rounded education I’d already used to get as far as I had.

More recent years have found me returning to my roots, proudly joining Local 798, the IATSE Makeup and Hair Artists Union, and enjoying the camaraderie on set.

One of my biggest strengths on a job is my ability to make your vision happen. Tell me about what you’re seeing, and I’ll get it onto paper, film, or in person.
